THE CITY I DREAMED ABOUT

One day I came late from school and I was very tired because i walked a distance of about three kilometers to reach home. On the way to home a scenario that made made more tired. I met a dog that chased like no body’s bussiness and i had to take another route which was abit to wrong escape the dog’s wrath. I managed to escape the tragedy but the consequence is that I reached home late and tired. Good enough when I reached home Found my mom already prepared food for me. I ate that food so fast because I was hungry. Mom knew that she gave me some additional food for me to be satisfied more. That evening we sat together with mom watching a movie after we had completed all the tasks to be done. The movie displayed good buildings that i had never seen. Actually they not just houses but rather mansions. I was so excited to see the buildings and I told mom.. “Mom!! I will one day live in the city of this kind". Mom told Lick you just tired go sleep then when you wake up we can talk. Mh!, It felt like i lost hope . We went sleep that time...I dreamed of that great city with mansions throughout the night and when i waked the next morning i was still in thoughts about it.

I went to school that day though my mind was still not in studies but think of the city. One of my teachers sow me that day and asked what was I thinking... I told him “nothing sir!!". He just smilled and continued teaching.

I studied and completed till secondary level. Advanced level I was selected by the government to join a school that was a far away from my home place where lived with parents. I boarded the bus to the region the school was. On the way to my advanced school I saw many buildings but they were not as those in the city i dreamed. I traveled till i reached place where the school was found but i couldn’t see the city I dreamed about. I left me with dilemma but was my hope yo see that city.

The studied began once again i n school called Kijiweni High School. I studied for six good months and the holidays were approaching. I was so excited about the holiday and I had to back home to narrate to my mom and dad what happened in the i was not with them. The day came. And we boarded bus back to our homes together with my friend on the way back i sawa great building of which i saw in the dreams. I tried to think why didn’t I see them during the first journey when I was coming to school and a I understood that it was night when I passed the place. My heart was so glad to see the city i dreamed about and promised to come and settle back in the city with building that were more than buildings but rather mansions..
